I've had good experience with a new one for my 65KG - the harness was built by Wiring Works and comes with instructions unlike the VWHeritage harness (which I am also looking at instlalling a RHD 1970 style harness for a friend). Similarly, the length of the left and right hand front harness should be different to account for the change in fuse box location. But, since the RHD fuse box is over on the right, many o the wires are longer to reach over. The main harness routes from the engine bay to the dash along the left side of the car in either case. The curved black thing passing through the cab floor to the left of this image is the clutch pedal. The horn feed wire is the upper of those two. The speedo cable is the lower of the two black things passing through the valance panel. A previous owner fitted one of those naff 'oo-ooga' horns. To help you orientate that picture, the horn is the red funnel thing to the right on that picture. That is a new auxillary loom which I put in to tidy up some loose wires. Ignore the left hand loom that overlaps it and enters the cab nearer the centre. The right hand of the two holes in the pictures below is where the factory loom passes through the valance panel. If your right hand rail has the tangs, I'd assume that the loom runs down the right hand side and is the same as a LHD. My single cab only has them on the rail through which the loom runs. If you don't have a loom, look for the metal 'tangs' that grip the loom on the frame rails. The loom runs down the right hand frame rail and enters the cab on the right hand side of the valance. I don't know either answer. I think he means down low where the harness comes up into the cab front. ![]() Posted: Sat 2:46 pm Post subject: Re: Wiring loom hole in front valance Posted: Sat 12:31 pm Post subject: Re: Wiring loom hole in front valanceġ1/4/52, black Zwitter - SOLD to my little bro.ġ954 Porsche, pre A, with VW 36 horse- SOLD Posted: Sat 9:24 am Post subject: Re: Wiring loom hole in front valance Posted: Tue 9:21 am Post subject: Wiring loom hole in front valanceĬan someone tell me or put up a photo to show where the holes should be in the inner front valance for the wiring loom.
